Our Mission Statement
To provide quality live theatre which will educate, stimulate, challenge and excite our patrons, theatre artisans and performers.
The Vision for FRT
- To foster the development of young people by encouraging good citizenship, responsibility, self-esteem, positive outlook and co-operative community participation, as well as educating our youth to become future patrons and supporters of the performing arts.
- To encourage volunteer participation in all aspects of the performing arts.
- To encourage the development of new works, new visions, and artistic excellence.
- To provide a well-supported venue where amateurs and professionals alike can find an outlet and support for their growth, development, and creative expression.
- To prepare performers and theatre artisans for occupations in the professional theatre.
- To enhance the marketability of the Eel River Valley by providing an attraction for visitors which encourages them to remain overnight in the area.
- To enhance the visibility and profitability of local business by bringing audiences from the whole of Humboldt County and beyond to the Victorian Village of Ferndale.
- To be an integral part of the Ferndale and Humboldt County communities.
Board of Director’s Responsibilities
- To carry out the mission of the Rep and to promote the theatre in the community.
- To govern the Rep within the parameters of its By-Laws and State and Federal laws governing non-profit organizations.
- To provide a strategic plan for the Rep and to evaluate progress towards stated goals.
- To approve the annual budget, develop the financial base to support the budget and participate in financial oversight of the Rep.
- To participate in fundraising for the Rep including the planning and implementation of and attendance at the major annual fundraiser, RepFest or facsimile (date/s to be determined).
- To attend all regular Board meetings (third Tuesday of the month unless otherwise notified), a performance of each main stage production and special events where appropriate.
- To actively participate on at least one committee of the Board.
